But out of limitations comes creativity...

I had good times with my kids this Summer!

I can say that I did my best to make them happy as always :)

Well, like I said before my daughter,  Ariana found her love for crafts this Summer.

We did lots of crafts.

So on the last Sunday of Summer vacation I had to do something with her and of course Anthony.

First we colored on paper... I told them to go crazy with the colors and just color all over.

Colorful paper + boxes (from pasta, snacks, cookies, crackers, juice) = Cardboard Blocks!

Another Recycled Toy! A really good mix of learning, creating and having F-U-N!

All you need to do is glue the paper to the boxes. You can draw ABC's, Number, Words.

And you will have this...

And your kids will be so Happy :)

They can build anything, Anthony even play with his cars on the blocks.

The other night we all played together, even Daddy :)

Simple things that can bring so many smiles :) That's what I like it!

Recycled Crafts is a  great way to teach our kids about recycling and the environment.

What I like the most is that I get to see my  kids creative side and also this kind of craft  teaches them a lot about recycle.

Another important thing is that I get to talk to my kids about how you don't need to go to the store to get something new all the time, you can make something cool and original :)

I have two projects to show you.

The first one is using rice...not really recycling because we used uncooked rice...

Here is a link for colored rice art.

I don't have pictures of the rice before and after but Here

you will find out how to color rice.

Just coloring the rice is fun, but I did it thinking they could make art using the colored rice.

And this is the Beautiful Art my kids made for me! ....

They also used dry peas :)

We just used 2 colors, blue and purple.

By the way, have seen "writing on rice grain"?

Right Here is a video on how to write on rice grain.

I saw last week that you can make a sand box...

Well... it would be rice box, like a sand box but instead of sand you can use colored rice.

I want to try that, but I need to figure it out how big my container will be.

Now the next craft is.....

Recycle!!!!!!!!!!!

We used a cookie box to make a play fridge and a taco shell box to make a play stove.

This was a very special mommy and daughter thing :) We spend time talking about what color, how to do it and had lots of fun doing it!

First the stove....

Before.....

After....

Fridge

Before...

After...

 100% Recycle.

We used lollipop wraps, scrapbooking paper, juice and soda label and I used Velcro instead of a handle to open and close the fridge.

Funny thing is that they have a play kitchen but they love this stove and fridge.

It was fun.

And Ariana still doing Origami, yesterday she made a little and a big house.

This Summer was special!

Ariana found her L-O-V-E for crafts!

Let's make some rings :)

You will need :

Cute paper, or make your own.

And ...

Cut and glue with Mod Podge a piece of your beautiful paper in the back of your marble ( I guess you could also use fabric).

Let it dry.

Now you need a ring base like this...

Since I don't have this kind of base I used some other kind (I had to cut something off but no one knows, only you)

And that's it..just hot glue your marble to your base!

Easy! Easy! As A,B,C!!!

I'm Hoping to...

Oh boy, today me and my lovely daughter Ariana tried for the very first time "Origami".

Origami is the Japanese art of folding paper into decorative shapes and figures.
Now I know I am going to have to go shopping for more paper very soon.

Man! The things you can do with paper are unreal!

This is the site I got the instructions to make my very first cup chair and box.

I am going to have more pictures later but just want to share those with you.

By the way this is a great quite craft to do with your kids... Ariana was so happy to see her chair. It makes my heart happy to see my Princess happy :)

If you haven't tried and you like crafts I can tell you that you will love it! To me it was very relaxing.

Little box :)

I think is cute!

Now is Origami

Make sure to check it out her Blog , grab some coffee, tea, juice, plain H2O, or some light soy milk (that's what I'm drinking right now) and come party with us!

The only bread that came out good coming from me LOL

I have made many many many Rock Bread!!!!!!!!!

You know, the bread that your kids can play basketball and trow against the wall and it won't break it!!!!!!!

Oh! But I finally found my Perfect Bread!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I made it last night and I am going to share the recipe with you.

The recipe comes from a website from Brazil, so if you want to go there click

HERE

After reading the reviews from the website

I made some changes from the original recipe.

Here it is...

Ingredients:

4 egss

8 Tbsp. sugar

1 Tsp. salt

1 cup vegetable oil

1 cup warm milk

                                                       2 envelopes Fleischmann's RapidRise yeast

Flour... almost 1 Kg.

Put in the blender the first 6 ingredients.

Take out of the blender and place in  large bowl.

Add the flour little by little.

Place dough on a surface to knead.

Now work it girl! Knead that dough up!
You don't have to let it rest, but I put the dough back in the bowl

and let it sit inside the microwave for like 10 minutes.

Now shape the bread the way you want.

Bake on 350 for 20 minutes or until you see some color on top of the bread.

While the bread is baking get 2 cup of sugar and 1 cup of water and cook on low heat.

Right after you take the bread out of the oven you pour some of that over the bread.

That's it.

If you have any question please let me know and I will be more than happy to answer.

I made it last night and this morning it was very soft, not hard at all :)

With coffee Yum!

Even the crust outside is really soft!

Next time I want to try to make with whole wheat flour and brown sugar, I'll let you know :)
